ID-5SH Idaho Mule Deer

Description:

These hunts take place in SE Idaho, in the backcountry of the Caribou Targhee National Forest, Unit 66 – which is not far from Regions G & H in Wyoming.   But unlike Wyoming,  this Idaho hunt comes with a guaranteed tag through the outfitter!

–This is a deep horseback/ pack in backcountry hunt, typically hunting high country mule deer and/or elk.   This is a full 7 day trip, with 5 full hunting days.   Camp is several miles deep, usually 4-10 miles, a few hours on horseback, with outfitter wall tents with cots and stoves, and also a cook tent for the warm meals.

–These guides have decades of experience hunting, fishing, and packing into remote backcountry areas.  Their horses are also tried and true backcountry animals.  No need to be experienced with horses for these trips, but the physical ability for long hours in the saddle is a must.    They will strive to give you the experience of a lifetime and access to country that is very difficult to access without horses!

Target size muley bucks are 160-180”, with larger in the area.  The more physically fit, the higher success for the larger backcountry bucks!
