Description:

Hunt Sitka Blacktail on the vessel based transport hunt of a lifetime.  Departing Kodiak Alaska every Thursday, mid October thru early December.  We depart on seven day vessel based Sitka Blacktail Deer hunts across the entire Kodiak Archipeligo.  The Kodiak Archipeligo is home to vast numbers of Sitka Blacktail deer, being aboard our floating base camp, which allows easy access to hundreds of miles of coastline not accessible by traditional drop-off hunting, or other operations that “homestead” the same hunting grounds year after year.  

What’s Included:

Vessel lodging, all meals, transport to shore for hunting. (This is a transport hunt so hunting is DIY)

This hunt can also be upgraded to a cast and blast by adding sea duck hunting and fishing.

Not Included:

The hunting portion is DIY, so does not include a guide for the hunting portion, license and tags are extra, gratuities

Accommodations:

A 60′ yacht Powered by twin diesels it is both safe and reliable, with a cruising range of nearly three thousand miles. State of the art safety equipment includes, self inflating life rafts, EPIRB, sat phone, dual VHF’s, dual GPS chart plotters, radar, and a fixed firefighting unit in the engine room. Measuring sixty five feet with a beam of nearly twenty feet the Venturess is also the largest and most comfortable long range vessel in the fleet. Wide walk around decks, a fully covered aft deck to get out of inclement weather, and a five ton fish hold make the Venturess the ultimate long range Sport fisher. Cabin amenities include bunk space for 12 with ample storage and outlets. Two heads (marine toilets), one shower with attached changing room/sink combo.

Cost:

$3500 for Sitka deer only or $4750 for cast and blast (sea duck and fishing)

How to get there:

Fly into Kodiak via Anchorage on Alaska Air, arrives at 4:30pm (overnight in Anchorage may be required) depart lodge at 8am on departure day

new hunters prep course

The purpose of ths course is to prepare you for an upcoming hunt, where you can expect to shoot at ranges from 200 to 500 yards. Hunting can be demanding and put a a good amount of stress on you both physically and mentally. Our instructors, who are avid hunters as well, will make sure you have all the tools you need to be successful on your next hunt.
